Skullcandy Crusher Evo : The Devil Made Headphones

Imagine you’ve just received the Skullcandy Crusher Evo headphones. You unbox them, check out the headphones, the earpads, the buttons you can use, and then you try them in Bluetooth mode with whatever device you have.

Not expecting something different from other headphones you’ve bought, you select a loved song to test them out with the bass on.

At that moment your first reaction might be, just laughing with people around you not getting what’s going on. Listening to music with the SkullCandy Crushers Evo gives you the sensation of having a mega Dj on your head, or being close up to a stereo speaker, well something like that. With a bass at a higher level, the noise of everyday life will just disappear and you’ll be in your own world.

Now, these are designed for bass lovers. These folks won’t be disappointed at all. So if you’re one of them and you’re looking for a listening experience to blow your mind away and I literally mean that.

Then you know what you should get, and if you’re crazy enough to want a rattle in your head then go ahead, but don’t overdo it, you might end up with some headache, and then don’t blame me for that. You see, I didn’t call them the Devil-made Headphones for nothing. You’ve been warned anyway.

Now let’s get back to being more serious. The Skullcandy Crusher Evo is sturdy in your hands, so if you’re someone who travels a lot, these don’t break down easily. But they have a soft touch. The headbands are adjustable to fit your head. But you might find them a little bit firm. Some people will like that though.

Besides that, they have habitual control buttons, like power on/off, volume control, skipping forward or backward, and a slider to control the bass. You have with it the charger, a USB cable, obviously with a 3.5 millimeter audio jack for wired connection. All of that is packed in a canvas carrying bag which is practical.

It is useful to mention here that the headphones can function for a total of 40 hours straight. Even when you need to charge them, only 10 minutes gives you 4 hours of use. This is great especially if you’re someone who uses headphones for extended hours like me.

For a better listening experience, you can use the SkullCandy App, which adjusts the music mode for movies, music, or podcasts.

Within the app, there is a hearing test of maybe 3min, to customize the Equalizer frequencies according to your hearing. Which is amazing for people with basically a hearing problem.

As I said before, the bass sound quality is great, nonetheless, you can still hear the mids and lows perfectly fine. You’ll get an immersive listening experience no matter the musical genre (Jazz, Rock, Classical, Metal, etc.).

Few things you might not like about the Skullcandy Crusher Evo:

These headphones weigh 310 grams which you might find hefty compared to others which range from 270 to 290 grams. The earpads are very comfortable, for the ear, but for people with bigger ears they might feel they are not that spacious. Also as mentioned before they have a slight firm fit so you might find yourself putting them off after maybe 1.30min of use.

With that said, I think these headphones serve well their purpose of delivering an outstanding listening experience.
